Students gain experience, companies gain ideas through capstones

Washington Prime Group, headquartered in Columbus, provided real-world experience for students in Dale Anne Davidson’s capstone marketing class this semester. Based on their research throughout the term, students built marketing plans to help grow Washington Prime’s Tangible concept. Students offered ideas to help improve the new concept with compelling brand partners, optimal space locations and providing seasonal changes.

Washington Prime was recently on campus to see first hand the research and solutions brought forth by these students during final capstone presentations.

“We loved the incredible work and different perspectives that the students brought to the table and were able to utilize ideas from every single team that presented," said Charlie Adams, Vice President of Ventures at Washington Prime Group. "This type of engagement with Ohio State is something we would pursue again, and would fully recommend to other companies."

A capstone class is an important part of the educational experience at Ohio State. By partnering with companies like Washington Prime Group on these types of engagements, students are gaining experience that informs their chosen fields and companies are getting fresh ideas and out-of-the-box solutions from an innovative future workforce.
